God sustains me,
stamps out the raging fires of turmoil.
He is my refuge through hardship;
through His Word, my soul is restored,
my anxieties quelled,
and my every thirst quenched.
When I was washed ashore,
He clothed me in garments anew for every new day,
to be refreshed in every blessed way.
When I am led beclouded through the wilderness,
His light is the guide,
beckoning me to the safety of His embrace.
And through challenges I must face,
His strength becomes mine –
I defy the wicked spirit creatures that oppress.
God loves me infallibly,
waters the desires to serve Him joyfully.
Friends were once enemies,
but He teaches me nothing less than the salvation song I sing:
‘God, God within,
how you are greater than he who is in the world’.
