As a mother, I longed for Jane, my daughter, to get married. She had chances but said she would only marry a Christian man. As I am 83 years old, I wanted Jane to have someone to care for her after I go to be with the Lord. One year ago Jane told me she had met a man called David who is a lay preacher. After many phone calls and meetings the relationship grew. When David asked Jane to marry him and she said “Yes”, a wonderful year began. My 22 year old granddaughter, Courtney, worked at the Ritz Hotel in London as a chef. She had a chance to travel to South Africa with Tear Fund working with homeless children for 6 weeks. On her return she said “Nan, I’m giving up my job and going to Bible College.” She started studying at Moorlands in New Milton. Guess where Jane and David moved to when they married? New Milton! Courtney moved in with them and became a Youth Leader in the New Life church.
Jane then contacted me and said “Mum, we want you to come and live near us. You are trapped where you live, at the top of a steep hill with no public transport. We can help you. We have transport and no hills”. I prayed about it and knew God was saying “Yes”. We put our bungalow on the market and a couple immediately made an offer. Next we had to find a home in New Milton. We viewed a flat in a complex of 40 little houses in woodland. I fell in love with it and asked David to offer the full price because it was worth it. Incredibly, £2,000 had been knocked off the price which included all the beautiful furniture! I still can’t believe the amazing way in which our dear Lord has worked in my life during this one year.
